About La Galerie d'Art

Roby began his career in the world of art by learning the technique of picture framing in Antibes in the south of France. Upon his return to England in 1978 he set up a small workshop and also began to display the work of the artists for whom he provided an invaluable framing service.

From here the business grew. Further galleries in Ambleside and Bowness have followed in due course.

Celine Tonnet, Roby's daughter, became a partner in the business upon graduating from university. Together they travel regularly to France and Spain to discover new talent which they may showcase through the galleries.

The galleries now host regular exhibitions dedicated to just a few artists work, and are constantly striving to develop the scope and range of material for the art buying public.
